Ballarat Sale Ready Tip #6 Neutral colours for internal walls

Freshen up your interior paint work by painting interiors in a neutral colour scheme

Presenting a neutral colour scheme when selling your house helps to make the interior to look fresh, light & neutral. But if you need to choose an interior colour you may be overwhelmed by the choices.

Off white paints are white paint with tints of colour. These tints create an undertone which can look different in different natural, & artificial lights. Also, colours from floor finishes can throw a colour tone onto the walls.

It is always a good idea to buy a sample pot & try some paint in the room.

Cool whites have a blue/black base , which reduces natural light.

Warm whites have a brown or yellow base which create a warmer hue, & makes a room feel softer.

If you have a contemporary house, with low ceilings, it is a good idea to move away from grey walls, as grey makes a room feel dull. Try Dulux “Natural White’, which is a warm white.

If your house doesn’t receive a lot of light, then Dulux ‘Whisper White’ will help to increase the light level. Alternatively Dulux “Vivid White”

For a period style house, Dulux “Antique White USA” is a softer colour, & has been very popular in that sector.

Dulux ‘Hog Bristle, Quarter strength’ is a warm tint, & also works well. It has a tinge of soft biscuit, but doesn’t throw a brown or green tinge.
